I propose that people should be allowed to buy alcohol at 18 in licensed premises such as pubs and restaurants but the age limit should be raised to 21 years if buying at supermarkets or off licences.
Why the contribution is important
Increasing the age would make it harder for young people to buy alcohol and hopefully help reduce the amount of under age drinkers. Keeping the age lower for licensed premises would boost business for pubs and restaurants while people drank in a more 'controlled' environment.
